Aircraft / Luggage Handler (f/m/d)

Staff in aircraft and luggage handling get to see the airport firsthand every day. They work right out on the apron, in amongst aircraft, luggage trolleys and ground-handling equipment.

Day by day, they make sure that the planes can take off on time and that passengers can collect their luggage punctually. This calls for teamwork, because at peak times Munich Airport moves more than 50,000 suitcases and bags in a single day.

Tasks that will inspire you

  • Loading and unloading luggage trolleys and containers
  • Organization of local and transfer luggage
  • Luggage transport as well as deployment and operation of the vehicles and equipment necessary for handling
  • Activities at the interfaces to the central infrastructure
  • Loading and unloading aircraft as per loading instructions and establishing the ground power supply
     

Qualifications that matter for us

  • Full physical capability
  • Willing to work shifts, also on Sundays and holidays
  • Sufficient knowledge of German or English
  • Class B driver’s license
  • Clean criminal record

  • For shift work: Fixed shift allowance of EUR 0.25/h plus variable allowances for Sundays, night work and shift work
  • Increased travel allowance of EUR 0.17/km (currently limited)
  • Annual bonus (Christmas bonus) in November (up to 84.51% of the average monthly wage paid from July to September)
  • A safe job with a permanent contract (37.5 hours/week)
